Security by Campus

Hi

Im trying to restrict campus specific info to the campus leaders.

Does anyone know how to do this?

e.g. i have a dynamic report based on campus filter but i want a campus leader to only be able to view their campus not someone elses.

Also, does anyone know what the Campus field does in the Security Roles Setup

    In general there isn't security based on Campus. You can control the viewing of pages and group heirarchies based on membership in security roles that you make for each campus staff. In the case of the Dynamic Data block you do have access to the page's Campus context's (if you page uses campus context). You could also write your SQL to take into account the current person's home or work campus.

      Thanks Jon, assuming I had a group hierarchy where the top tier had a security role and bottom tiers had another.


      Would the person with the bottom tier security still be able to view and browse the group tree?

        Security roles are groups and all groups have a campus field. You could use this field to track security roles for a specific campus, but other than that this field doesn't do anything specific.

          In terms of your group hierarchy question you must ensure that groups at the top of the hierarchy do not block access to those at the bottom to ensure that navigation down the hierarchy works.

            Hi Jon, about the Group Tree View. Ive assigned Security for the role to Rest Controller, Page, the actual Tree, Each Group and Section


            So they have permission on every possible angle but it still says " Error Unauthorized"
