Getting stuck in the db configuration stage

I have gone through the process of settingup my machine for rock instalattion including db setup.

I have so far been unable to get Rock to pass the environment checks (not getting the pass screen)

I have gone over the entire instalation process a few times and have not been able to identify the issue.

Running it on a win 2012 vm with sql sever 2012.

Running a connection test to the db via ODBC returns a successful test completion

    Hello Sogo,
I'm sorry for the trouble. Can you post a screenshot of the environment checks screen for us to review?
    Thank you.

    Thanks Guys.

I set up the aliases for both the 32 and 64 bit version, with a fully qualifed server name (server name/instance name), left the port field empty and it all worked fine.

    Much appreciated.

Sogo, we had an issue with the installer early on (v.3) where an old copy of the database already existed and the installer couldn't overwrite it.  Maybe check for the MDF and LDF to see if they already exist on the server?

    Hi David/Jeremy ,

I am using the latest version of the installer, downloaded today. Also I have not event gotten to the stage were Rock is installed and the db created. I'm getting held up when the installer trys verifying theh env.

I have pasted the screen grab of where I'm stuck and cant progress from below.

Do you have SQL and IIS installed on the same server?  Try using the fully qualified machine name as the Database Server.

Alternatively check SQL Configuration Manager to see if there's an alias set for localhost:

Yeah, I suspect localhost as well. Could be one of those issues where localhost is resolving to the IPV6 address of the server and SQL server isn't listening on IPV6.
