Dynamic Population of a Group

We are trying to dynamically populate a group using a certain set of criteria, e.g., all males in 6th and 7th grade. At this point, we have a Data View setup to accomplish this for communication purposes but would prefer this to occur within a group to also use for check-ins and taking attendance. After research, I see the 'Group Simple Register' block as well as the Workflow to Group feature addition in version 4, but I'm not sure either of these would accomplish this task.

I appreciate any help the community could offer!

    Ironically, I've been working on that feature this week. In Rock v4 you will be able to sync the member list of a group to a Data View optionally sending system emails when added or removed from the group member list.
