Putting Cash/Check payments towards registrations

Hello! I am very new to Rock so this is probably a pretty elementary question. I have created an event registration and entered in a registration for someone manually. I need to update their payment status as they have already paid, but when I go to Payment Details I get this error message: Screen Shot 2019-09-10 at 2.22.12 PM.png

I'm not sure what step I need to take next to link the registration to an individual as I've already selected an individual when I manually did his registration. TIA!

    Did you add the Person as a registrant in the registration?  Once you add a registrant (which should show up below the screenshot you provided) with the +Add New Registrant button,  I believe it will allow you update their payment status.
