Attendance

We want to take attendance using ROCK, allowing people to sign in with the phone app. This would be so we can get a good headcount each Sunday. We are unsure how to set up the attendance portion of ROCK. We have everyone recorded in the data base but what do we do next?

    Doing attendance like this is not common, but not impossible with Rock... at a high level, you would need to:

    1. Put all of your people into a single group

    2. Create a workflow with a user form that lets the user click "I'm here" or similar. This workflow would be launched from a page on the Rock public website and could be "open" or behind authentication. If behind authentication you will get better data and FAR fewer duplicate records created. 

    3. The workflow records attendance in the group for that person.

    There are a lot more details to make that happen (some of them somewhat complex), but that's the gist. Helping with this sort of workflow is not easy in these non-real-time forums, so you might ask in the Rock Slack (you can join at http://rockrms.com/slack) as that is much better for real time collaboration.
