Default values/fields for new people

We are working to implement ROCK with our new community center launching in a few weeks. Our director is hoping to find a way to adjust the default fields for any new people that are being added to tailor rock for use in the community center. Is there a way to do this, and if so how?

Correct. With our community center we are wanting to capture more information about each person then the default. We noticed as well that you can't even enter a  phone number from the new family page.

That is correct. It all gets entered on their individual profile. They way we have done this when adding families while they wait (such as for check-in) is to have a paper form they fill out. We add the basics right then and go back in later at slow points and add the rest. Is that something that could help? Or am I completely missing the point?

You can now add extended attribute entry to the 'New Family' page. Here's how (requires Beta 12). In the next update we will add the ability to enter:

    • Home Phone
    • Cell Phone
    • Emails

Yes you can completely customize this information. Have you checked out the manuals?

I think this section could be helpful.

What specific things are you hoping to adjust?

Rock groups people into families and then individual profiles. Would that work in your case?

What we are stuggling to do is we want to be able to assign those attributes to people as we add them to the database. (When adding a new family)

I would guess that you could do through workflows. Although their documentation is not yet released and setting up a workflow appears that it will take a lot of forethought to do well.

Is this just a time saving idea to keep from needing to add the family and then assign attributes individually?

I think what they ended up deciding to do was have all people come in and fill out paper applications and then manually enter all info later (weekly or so). This was a project I got setup and handed off to our community center director.
