Small Group Capacity

Hi,

When I add a new group, under the General Section, is a field called "Capacity"; however, when I edit that same group, there is no "Capacity" field to edit.

I wan to set a capacity on small groups to keep people from registering after the capacity is reached.  Is there another way?

Thanks,

Don

For the Group Type that Group is one of - you need to set the Capacity Rule to Hard.  If you look at the Group it should give a name for it's Group Type and that is the one you need to edit. The rules are Soft and Hard. Soft means it will let people register but give a warning on the back end to admin type users. Hard will prevent people from registering.

Excellent! Thank you! I got that working now. I did not see anything about that is the manual. Did I miss it?

It's a little bit cryptic, in that it does not specifically say "turn this on to see the Capacity option", but it does talk briefly in the Rock your Groups manual under the Administering Group Types section. Follow this link and scroll down a little bit to the table of Settings and you should see it:

I ran into this myself the first time I was trying to figure out how to get the Capacity option to show up. It is helpful as you don't end up entering a Capacity and then wonder why it isn't enforced. It's not helpful in that if you don't turn it on you might never know it exists. :)
