Email Warning about not having an active transport configured.

Hi,

When I originally setup our email transport for Mandrill, I just used the SMTP line that was there, and modified it to work.  IDK if the Mandrill line was there and I missed it, or if it was added after I set it up.  Today I deactivated the old regular SMTP transport, and setup the one that looked like it was specifically for Mandrill.  The emails still get sent, however, on the send email page, I now get the following Warning messge.

Warning The Email channel does not have an active transport configured. The communication will not be delivered until the transport is configured correctly.

Is this a software glitch, or do I need to do something else to get that warning to go away?

Thanks!

Keith, Even though both transports may be active, Rock is only going to use the transport that is currently selected in the Transport Container setting for Email under Communication Channels. I suspect you may have got that warning by activating the Mandrill transport, inactivating the SMTP transport, and not updating the Email channel to use the Mandrill transport. You still may want to confirm that your Email Channel is in fact using the Mandrill transport. Take a look at the "Under the Hood with Communications" section in the "Communicating with Rock" manual.

So, just wondering.  How is everyone else setting up their communications transport for Mandril?  Are you using the existing Mandrill SMTP transport , or the normal SMTP transport?  The only diference is the check bx for the inline css on the Mandrill Transport.

I just reconfigured the Regular SMTP transport again and left both transports active and the issue seems to have gone away. Not sure if this is the way it is supposed to work though.

I've setup a Mandrill account for Rock.  That checkbox is actually a pretty big thing for email presentation when staff start using a system like this to communicate.  I know from other experiences all to well the "that's not what it looked like on MY screen".  Also, I highly recommend a service like Mandrill or SendGrid rather than using your own private SMTP.  Both of those services can give you analytics on deliverability, open, and clicks.

Yep we are using Mandrill. Do you also have the regular SMTP transport setup? When I only had the Mandrill one set it was not working all the time and I had a warning message that the SMTP transport was not setup. Both are pointing to the Mandrill servers.
