ACS Upload?

We currently use ACS as our database. We're looking for something different but are afraid of losing all our current data stored in ACS. Is there any way of exporting ACS into Rock

DJ, We're also an ACS People Suite (self-hosted internally) shop, and I can confirm that I was able to get a lot of my ACS data into Rock with little effort. It was purely a test-case on my part (to try out Excavator), but I was able to map successfully all the 'required' fields that Excavator needs for a CSV import (Individuals and families).

We're in the early database evaluation phase, and as we continue on we're very impressed with Excavator and Rock, including its ability to import data from ACS. Let me know if you need any of the documentation I have from when I played around with it.

While there is no direct import of ACS data into Rock, it is definitely possible (though not trivial) to use this application https://github.com/NewSpring/Excavator to import CSV-formatted data that you've pulled out of ACS. A competent "database" person should be able to do it, and you can get help from others who have already gone down this path here or in the #migration channel of the Rock Slack team.

I would love to hear about your experience with this. We will be moving from ACS to ROCK sometime this fall. We are very concerned that we won't be able to transfer everything. We have been practicing but have been having trouble with the CSV files so any wisdom on that would be helpful as well!
