Check In application not working in Windows 10

I just tested the Windows Check In client on a laptop I had upgraded to Windows 10. Once I click the Start button on the first screen, I get a blank white screen. A long click in the top left corner still closes it.

The current check-in app uses an embeded Chrome borwser. This internal browser does not support Windows 10. We have been testing a new check-in client that does use IE. It is working on Windows 10, but it's not 100% ready for release. This will be fixed in v4.0 and we may, knowing this new issue release the check-in app earlier. In the meantime we'd definately not recommend upgrading to Windows 10.

    Hi Greg,

My understanding is that Windows 10 uses a completely different browser (Edge) which isn't just a simple upgrade of Internet Explorer.  As such, it probably won't work with the existing Rock check-in system which relies on the browser to function.  I highly recommend not upgrading check-in machines to Windows 10 until at least version 4 of Rock is released later this year.  The new OS isn't officially supported by Rock yet, I'd assume, since it just came out a few weeks ago.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks for the comment Jeremy. I would also note that even though I changed the default browser back to IE, it made no difference. Still just a blank white screen.

I am experiencing this white screen as well. I just bought two new laptops that both came pre-loaded with windows 10 home not realizing that the Rock client was incomatible. Is there a work-around to force the application to use IE instead? Is there a projected date for Rock 4.0 release? Is there a way to go back to windows 8 on a machine that has windows 10 already on it?

Hi Keith. Most laptops, especially those with cd-rom drives, are capable of reinstalling their operating systems. If you have a Windows 8 DVD you should be able to wipe Windows 10 from the machine and reinstall it.

Also, version 4.0 is scheduled for October but the developers haven't said anything, to my knowledge, of it being compatible with Windows 10. It was simply an assumption on my part that it most likely wouldn't be compatible with Windows 10 until AT LEAST 4.0 came out but perhaps later.
