Setting up “follows” button.

I learned about the “follow” button option and was told that you’d receive emails when milestones come to pass with profiles you follow. I haven’t received any communications from Rock on those I follow. Is there a setting? Am I missing something?

    Hey Matt!

    I just started exploring what can be done with the following tool. I had the same confusion at first, until I realized that there was a little bit of setup before you get the notification. To adjust your notification preferences, navigate to My Settings > Following Settings, and select the Following Events you wish to be notified about.

    On the administrative side, you can set your own criteria for notifications, such as when an event note is created on a person or when a connection status changes. This is an especially valuable feature for enabling ministries to connect with the people they minister to on significant days to them.

    Also make sure that access to Following Events is secured, so only authorized can get notifications on protected information. Like a volunteers with internal access should probably not be able follow up on event registrations or prayer requests on whomever they follow unless they are supposed to be able to .

    Thanks, Yesu. Does this also accomplish the email question? Where do these notifications go?

    Yes, the end user just needs to set what kind of notifications they want and follow the people they want to be notified about. Notifications will go to the email listed on your profile, but as far as setting up the Following communication it comes fairly ready to go out of the box. You can get to it from Admin Tools > 
    Communications > System Communications > Following Event Notification     and tweak the template  but for our uses the original works perfectly for us.
