Error Adding, Updating or Verifying Addresses

When attempting to add/update or verify address I receive the following error.

RockError.PNG

Single Server Configuration

Windows: Server 2012 R2 with latest patches

DB: SQL Server Express 2012 SP4 with latest patches

Rock Version: 6.10

SqlServerSpatial110.dll is located in wwwroot\SqlServerTypes\x64 & wwwroot\SqlServerTypes\x86

Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2012 & Microsoft System CLR Type for SQL Server 2012 (x64) are installed and current

I have verified both Google and Bing API keys are current

Any thoughts?

    Daniel,

Thank you for the information and direction.  I had come to a similar conclusion prior to posting and was dreading a roll back or in place upgrade being Microsoft generally does not do in place upgrades well and favors migrations more.  I am outlining my steps below I had to take to resolve this issue.

    1. I completed a bare metal backup of the server and a full database backup.

    2. Downloaded SQL Server 2014 Advanced x64 and completed in place upgrade of SQL Server 2012 SP4

    3. Restarted IIS and tested and confirmed issue still existed.

    4. I then uninstalled SQL Server 2012 and Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2012 & Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2012 (x64).

    5. Restarted IIS and tested and confirmed issue still existed.

    6. I then downloaded the latest x86 and x64 version of Microsoft System CLR Types for SQL Server 2014 and installed them.

    7. Restarted IIS and finally I am able to add/change and verify addresses.

On another note I found out this issue was also affecting adding Devices for Check-In though this has resolve the issue as well.

Again thank you for the help and verification of the direction I had come to prior to posting.

    Hi Nick,

This is a bug that Microsoft introduced with SQL 2012 SP3.  I think your two options are to upgrade your version of SQL Server to 2014 or later, or you can try to apply this fix and see if it resolves the problem: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/34204990/entity-framework-cannot-update-database

Since you are running Express, as in free, I would recommend just upgrading SQL Server to the latest version if that is a possibility.

    Hello,

I have been having this issue for sometime now (not being able to add or update addresses in the system).  My RockRMS is installed on a host/shared server so my access is limited.  I have spoken with the host's troubleshooting department and they have been super helpful but still have not been able to resolve the issue.  I am running SQL server 2017.  Assistance needed!!!
