Malware issue

Site went down, admins for hosting server generously offered that Malware has been installed on the server and that I'd need to re-upload source files to correct the issue...... geez thanks admins!

Anyway, can someone advise me how the best method to do this?

    Hi Murray,

    Sorry to hear about this! 

    Without some additional details, I'm speaking a little off the cuff.  Essentially, if there is indeed some kind of infection, then your only option is to restore from a trusted source.  This may mean wiping clean and starting from scratch.

    You didn't mention whether you have a lot of data.  If so, you can probably restore your DB safely, but again without knowing where the infection is, this may be a problem.  If there weren't many filesystem changes - other than malware - then you probably will be fine with a fresh install and a DB restoration to get your person data back.

    Do you have backups?
